Mass Torts & Insurance Defense Attorney
Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid Work Model)
Compensation: Base Salary ranging from $260,000 to $365,000, commensurate with experience, with eligibility for discretionary year-end bonuses.
Schedule: Full-time, Direct-Hire, with a minimum annual billing target of 1,850 hours.

We are seeking a highly skilled Mass Torts & Insurance Defense Attorney to join a distinguished legal team in New York City. This position presents an exciting opportunity for an attorney to delve into the complexities of insurance coverage, policy analysis, and commercial litigation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising and representing clients in high-stakes coverage disputes and liability matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret complex insurance policies to evaluate coverage scope and exclusions.
- Advise clients on liability exposure across various insurance lines, such as General Liability, Directors & Officers (D&O) liability, Property, and Cyber insurance.
- Conduct due diligence and counsel on Representations and Warranties (R&W) insurance within significant corporate transactions and mergers.
- Draft comprehensive legal memoranda, coverage opinions, and litigation documents articulating sophisticated legal arguments.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and cross-functional teams to devise defense strategies and coverage positions in dynamic environments.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
- Active Bar Membership in New York, in good standing.
- Two to four years of post-J.D. experience in insurance coverage or complex litigation at a reputable law firm, preferably from class years 2021 through 2023.
- Proficiency in analyzing insurance mechanisms and policy structures.
- Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in the interaction between insurance provisions and M&A transaction agreements.
- Experience with cyber liability and executive protection policies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills for direct client interaction and teamwork.
