The Automotive Account Manager serves as a strategic advisor to dealership clients, leading digital marketing strategy across various accounts, including complex dealer groups and multi-rooftop portfolios. This role blends deep automotive expertise, data-driven decision-making, and internal leadership.

 

You’ll own client strategy, guide performance optimization, and help shape best practices across the account services team — with the autonomy to operate like a true business partner.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage complex automotive accounts, including multi-rooftop and dealer group relationships.
  • Build trusted partnerships with dealer principals, group owners, zone managers, and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute multi-channel digital marketing strategies aligned with sales growth, lead quality, and full-funnel performance.
  • Analyze results within real-world market conditions (inventory constraints, OEM incentives, regional competition) and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Deliver quarterly and annual strategic roadmaps that drive measurable business impact.
  • Translate performance data into clear, actionable insights clients can act on.
  • Collaborate with Directors and cross-functional teams on client retention, innovation, and process improvement.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of team best practices.

Requirements

Location: Remote (must be within reasonable proximity to a major airport)

Travel: Routine client travel (typically quarterly; some accounts may require slightly more frequent visits). Travel is planned and flexible, provided required visit cadence is met.

  • 4+ years of experience in automotive digital marketing experience. Experience Ideal experience in the automotive digital marketing space within a marketing/advertising agencyin a comparable position to Account Manager / Account Executive, Digital Marketing Manager, or Performance Manager.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex accounts and multi-channel strategies.
  • Mastery of SEM/PPC, SEO, Programmatic Display & Video, OTT/CTV, and Social Media Marketing.
  • Advanced proficiency with digital tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, ClickIQ, and Google Workspace.
  • Demonstrates strong strategic thinking and contributes to quarterly planning, upsell initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to fully lead and direct the new client onboarding process without ADM oversight
  • Track ROI against monthly KPIs, proactively offering optimization strategies (budget shifts, creative changes, keyword expansion).
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of fundamental lead handling processes and effectively consults dealers on practices such as the funnel exercise, 2-minute drill, and set-show-close strategy.
  • Audit pump in/pump out, zone reports, competitor market share, impression loss (budget/rank), and recommend competitive strategies.
  • Prepare, Lead, and execute quarterly business reviews (QBR) with insights on growth areas, performance gaps, and strategic next steps.
  • Must be able to provide high-level strategic consultation on the dealer ad planner, including recommending budget reallocations to higher-performing media channels.
  • Expert-level understanding of digital marketing platforms and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect data to business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage priorities, and lead without micromanagement.
  • Experience mentoring others and contributing to team or process improvements.
