Connectly Recruiting is partnering with a boutique technology consulting firm to find a Solutions Architect who will own the architecture for an enterprise AI platform built for a highly regulated environment. You'll design how AI agents make recommendations, how those recommendations are approved, and how every decision is recorded and auditable. It's a greenfield build with real ownership of the technical direction from day one.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end architecture for an AI governance platform and the agents that connect to it
• Design clear separation between what AI recommends, who approves it, and what gets executed
• Integrate with enterprise systems of record (ERP, EAM, CRM) through existing middleware, identity providers, and cloud infrastructure
• Define a stable integration standard that every current and future agent will use
• Set standards for audit, observability, and configuration governance
• Lead architecture reviews and represent the solution to executive stakeholders and architecture review boards
• Mentor a cross-functional team of platform, ML, and full-stack engineers

What you bring

• 7+ years in solutions or enterprise architecture, including AI/ML-enabled systems and cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Experience designing human-in-the-loop controls such as approval routing, risk scoring, and audit trails
• Strong integration experience with enterprise systems via middleware or ESB patterns
• Identity and access expertise (Entra ID, workload identity, OPA, Cedar, or similar)
• Working knowledge of LLM integration, AI agent design, and multi-agent orchestration
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOX ITGC, NERC-CIP, HIPAA, NIST AI RMF, or ISO 42001
• Solid grasp of observability and audit patterns, including OpenTelemetry and immutable audit records
• The ability to explain and defend architecture decisions to engineers and executives alike
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Bonus points if you've

• Built or hardened a platform from a design specification alone
• Created a versioned integration contract used by multiple independent teams
• Worked in utilities, energy, or other critical infrastructure
