We've been engaged by our client in a confidential search for a Vice President of Information Technology (VP, IT). The VP, IT serves as the senior technology executive for our client's platform of companies and is responsible for developing and executing the organization's technology strategy to support business growth, operational excellence, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.

This executive leadership role oversees all information technology functions across the platform, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, cloud services, business systems integration, telecommunications, data governance, end-user support, and technology project delivery. The VP, IT partners closely with executive leadership to align technology investments with strategic business objectives and to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions that support customers, employees, and operations across multiple business units and locations.

The VP, IT leads a team of technology professionals and serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership regarding technology strategy, risk management, cybersecurity, innovation, and digital transformation.

Essential Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

    Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with our client's business objectives and growth plans.

    Serve as a member of the executive leadership team and contribute to strategic planning, acquisitions, integrations, and operational initiatives.

    Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend investments that improve operational efficiency, employee productivity, and customer service.

    Establish technology governance processes, standards, and policies across the platform.

Technology Operations

    Direct all IT operations, including infrastructure, networks, systems administration, help desk support, telecommunications, cloud services, and business applications.

    Ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective technology services across all platform companies.

    Establish service level expectations and monitor performance to ensure high-quality support.

    Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

    Develop and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity program to protect company assets, data, and operations.

    Oversee cybersecurity policies, incident response planning, vulnerability management, and security awareness initiatives.

    Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, contractual, customer, and cybersecurity requirements.

    Provide regular reporting to executive leadership regarding cybersecurity risks, threats, and mitigation strategies.

Enterprise Applications & Digital Transformation

    Lead the implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise systems including ERP, HRIS, payroll, recruiting, project management, CRM, document management, and field operations technologies.

    Partner with business leaders to streamline processes through automation and technology-enabled solutions.

    Support acquisitions, system integrations, and platform standardization initiatives.

    Drive data analytics and business intelligence capabilities across the organization.

Financial Management

    Develop and manage the annual IT budget.

    Evaluate technology investments and ensure appropriate return on investment.

    Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, software providers, and managed service partners.

    Negotiate technology contracts and licensing agreements.

Leadership & Talent Development

    Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing IT professionals.

    Establish performance expectations and professional development plans for IT team members.

    Foster a culture of customer service, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Build organizational capabilities that support future growth.

Qualifications

Education

    Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required.

    Master's degree (MBA, MIS, or related field) preferred.

Experience

    Minimum of 12 years of progressive information technology leadership experience.

    Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position overseeing multiple IT disciplines.

    Demonstrated experience leading enterprise technology functions across multiple business units or locations.

    Experience managing cybersecurity programs and enterprise applications.

    Experience leading digital transformation, ERP implementations, and systems integrations.

    Experience supporting highly regulated, industrial, engineering, energy, utility, construction, or technical service organizations preferred.

    Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and organizational growth initiatives preferred.
