A top-15 AmLaw firm is seeking a talented mid-level Associate Attorney to join its highly-regarded Hospitality & Leisure Practice Group in New York, Chicago, Phoenix or Washington, DC. This position offers the opportunity to work with market-leading clients on sophisticated hotel, mixed-use, and complex real estate and corporate transactions across the U.S. and internationally.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing
  • 2–4 years of substantive experience in real estate or transactional matters
  • Experience drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, commercial contracts, or related transactional documents
  • Familiarity with hotel, mixed-use, or hospitality transactions is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Prior law firm experience with largesophisticated deal work is required
  • Ability to manage complex workstreams, competing deadlines, and multifaceted transactions
  • Ability to manage closings, oversee due diligence, and drive transactions forward efficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical capability and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with partners, clients, and cross-office teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to exceptional client service
 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent owners, investors, developers, operators, and financial institutions in hospitality and mixed-use real estate transactions
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of transactional documents, including letters of intent, purchase and sale agreements, hotel management agreements, franchise agreements, license agreements, and joint venture contracts
  • Support financing transactions, including negotiation of loan documents and related deliverables
  • Manage deal closings from inception through completion, coordinating all parties and documentation
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including title and survey review, corporate structuring, zoning, and property-level analysis
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and global offices to support cross-border and multi-jurisdictional deals
  • Work directly with clients and become a trusted advisor through consistent, high-quality service

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Expected annual base salary range of $235,000 – $310,000, as determined by experience and market factors
