Location: This role is based in Edwardsville, Illinois, offering the opportunity to work closely with an experienced litigation team in a strong defense-side practice.

Note: Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in Illinois and have 2+ years of civil litigation experience. Deposition experience is required.

Job Description

  • Handle general civil litigation matters with a focus on medical negligence and general tort liability
  • Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop case strategies
  • Maintain strong client communication and deliver high-level client service
  • Manage litigation responsibilities with increasing independence and ownership

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Bar license in good standing
  • 2+ years of civil litigation experience
  • Deposition experience required
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Medical malpractice experience preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues
