A high-growth, private equity-backed industrial services company is seeking a Director of Marketing to build and lead its marketing function from the ground up.
This is a unique opportunity for a strategic, business-minded marketing leader who wants to create and own a modern marketing engine within a rapidly scaling organization. This role is best suited for someone who understands how to translate business drivers into marketing strategy—and then build and execute against that strategy to drive measurable growth.
Location: Baton Rouge, LA (Hybrid flexibility considered) or Houston, TX (if based in HOU, must be willing to travel one week each month to corporate HQ)
Overview
This role will serve as the central point of ownership for marketing: defining strategy, building the roadmap, and driving execution across brand, digital, and demand generation. You’ll partner closely with executive leadership and play a key role in aligning marketing efforts to revenue and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a marketing strategy aligned to business growth goals
- Identify key business drivers and translate them into actionable marketing initiatives
- Build and scale lead generation across organic and paid channels
- Partner closely with Sales to drive pipeline development and conversion
- Establish marketing infrastructure (CRM, analytics, lead tracking, automation)
- Optimize digital presence, including a complex website environment
- Lead brand positioning and messaging across all channels
- Manage external partners and build internal capabilities over time
- Track performance and ensure marketing efforts drive measurable ROI
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally within B2B or complex sales environments
- Strong foundation across digital marketing, demand generation, and brand strategy, with the ability to operate across the full funnel
- Proven ability to connect marketing strategy to business performance, with a track record of influencing pipeline growth and revenue outcomes
- Demonstrated experience translating business objectives and market dynamics into a clear, focused marketing strategy
- Ability to identify, prioritize, and activate the most effective growth levers across channels, with a strong understanding of where to invest for maximum impact
- Experience building and scaling marketing programs that drive measurable results, including lead generation, conversion, and customer engagement
- Strategic mindset with the ability to assess market opportunities, competitive positioning, and customer behavior to inform direction
- Experience operating in growth-oriented, fast-paced environments, with comfort navigating ambiguity and building structure where it does not yet exist
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team while also leveraging external partners and agencies effectively
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, particularly Sales and executive leadership
- Sound business judgment and decision-making skills, including the ability to make tradeoffs across channels, resources, and investments
- Data-driven approach, with experience leveraging CRM, analytics, and marketing technology to inform strategy and measure impact
Preferred Backgrounds
- Industrial services, oil & gas, engineering, or contractor-based environments
- Technical B2B organizations with complex or consultative sales cycles
- Experience in PE-backed or high-growth companies is a plus
- Agency experience or entrepreneurial background with ownership of growth outcomes is highly valued
