Sr EMI Engineering Manager
Overview
We are seeking a Senior EMI Engineering Manager to lead electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing operations while providing technical leadership for complex engineering programs. This role combines hands-on EMI/EMC test execution with department management responsibilities, including project planning, resource coordination, customer interaction, process improvement, and team leadership.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience performing EMI/EMC testing in accordance with military standards and have a proven track record of leading engineering teams in a laboratory, testing, manufacturing, or technical environment. This position requires strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and the ability to support business growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage EMI testing operations and engineering activities
- Develop project plans, schedules, testing procedures, and technical documentation
- Perform and oversee EMI/EMC testing and analysis
- Develop tailored test methods and equipment/system-level assessment approaches
- Coordinate with customers, project teams, and technical stakeholders
- Manage laboratory resources, equipment maintenance, and calibration activities
- Monitor project execution, budgets, schedules, and technical performance
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and industry standards
- Support business development efforts and identify opportunities for growth
- Prepare technical reports, qualification documentation, and project status updates
- Evaluate project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on technical and operational matters
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field from an ABET-accredited program
- 8+ years of EMI testing and analysis experience
- 5+ years of engineering leadership, team lead, or management experience
- Extensive experience conducting EMI/EMC testing to military standards
- Experience developing test plans, procedures, and technical reports
- Experience working within project-based engineering environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
