Field Automation Service Engineer & Machine Commissioning Specialist
Field Automation Service Engineer & Machine Commissioning Specialist
Up to $80,000 Base Salary + Travel Per Diem • Menomonee Falls, WI Area • First Shift & Global Travel
If you are a versatile technical specialist who wants to escape the monotony of a fixed plant maintenance loop or a repetitive, high-volume production floor, this high-visibility global engineering support seat offers your ideal career destination. Our client is an established, premier global manufacturer of high-performance automated systems driven by an innovative, quality-focused core team culture. Operating out of a state-of-the-art facility in the Menomonee Falls area, the organization has built a stellar reputation for precision craftsmanship and exceptional customer service.
This high-ownership role sits at the critical intersection of internal quality control and direct customer engagement. Rather than focusing solely on reactive field repairs, you will own the entire equipment lifecycle—from leading internal Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on the production floor to executing final Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) live at global client facilities. Working closely with a sharp engineering group, you will use your real-world field insights to submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) that directly optimize future machinery design. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will enjoy massive professional autonomy, exposure to cutting-edge automated systems, and a culture free of corporate politics where your technical expertise is highly respected.
What You Will Be Doing
- Act as the lead technical representative during in-field technical deployments and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), while providing professional remote support to global clients.
- Apply advanced mechanical and electrical diagnostic principles to isolate component faults, troubleshoot complex automated machinery, and implement lasting technical solutions.
- Manage final system commissioning, executing field repairs and performing expert software downloads to PLCs and HMIs.
- Command control panel fluency, working independently and safely with high-voltage panels, multi-axis industrial motors, and low-voltage sensors.
- Schedule and spearhead the internal Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) process prior to shipment, auditing machinery exiting production to guarantee zero-defect standards.
- Provide Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to the design engineering department regarding quality findings, and lead the technical setup and alignment of equipment for industry trade shows.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven field track record featuring 2 or more years of verifiable experience commissioning, servicing, or maintaining complex electro-mechanical industrial machinery or capital equipment.
- Strong technical aptitude, completely comfortable troubleshooting automated systems, wiring industrial controls, and interpreting multi-page schematics with minimal guidance.
- Elite customer-facing communication with an organized, detail-oriented mindset essential for training operators, collaborating with corporate clients, and logging service calls.
- Global mobility with the full, unconditional willingness and capability to travel 40 to 70 days a year, maintaining a valid passport for seamless international field deployments.
- Physical capability and stamina associated with heavy industrial machinery installations, precision rigging adjustments, and equipment assembly.
- Rock-solid career stability showing a reliable, progressive professional background that demonstrates long-term dedication and technical growth with prior organizations.
