Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Counsel to join its highly regarded Labor & Employment Practice Group in either Los Angeles or San Francisco. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior employment litigator to assume a leadership role within a sophisticated practice known for handling complex workplace disputes and providing strategic advice to employers.
The successful candidate will take ownership of significant litigation matters, supervise junior attorneys, advise clients on employment-related risks, and help grow a collaborative, high-performing practice serving a diverse client base.
Candidate Profile
- JD from an accredited law school with a strong academic record
- Active California Bar admission in good standing
- 10+ years of employment litigation practice
- Strong background handling single-plaintiff employment matters and wage and hour class actions
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a full litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Proven leadership skills, including mentoring and supervising associates and support staff
- Significant deposition, courtroom, hearing, and motion practice experience
- Sound case management, strategic planning, and project management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters while maintaining exceptional client service
- Familiarity with employment counseling and preventative workplace advice is preferred
- Strong business development aptitude and relationship management skills
- Excellent written advocacy, oral communication, and analytical abilities
- Practical, business-oriented approach to solving client challenges
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of employment litigation in state and federal courts
- Serve as lead or day-to-day case manager on sophisticated employment disputes
- Develop litigation strategy and oversee case execution through resolution
- Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and handle court appearances and hearings
- Supervise associates, paralegals, and other litigation team members
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients and provide strategic guidance on employment-related matters
- Advise employers on risk management, workplace compliance, and employment law developments
- Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver comprehensive client solutions
- Contribute to client development initiatives and support the continued growth of the practice

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Salary: $350,000 - $450,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location.
