Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) - Border Wall

Position: Safety & Health Officer
Salary Range: $115-$140K
Location: Laredo, TX area
Project: Border Wall Construction

Our construction client has been awarded a multi-year contract to continue the construction of the U.S. Border Wall in the Carrizo Springs, TX area (South of Laredo, TX / pop: 260,000).

The project consists of Barrier wall construction, 60+miles, boat ramp construction, patrol road repair, patrol road construction, bridge construction, electrical/lighting/ground detection system installation.

Candidates will travel to and live around the Laredo, TX area.

For the SSHO positions, the contract includes specific minimum qualification requirements, so candidates will need to clearly demonstrate that experience on their resumes.

SSHO Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of construction safety experience
• Must have served as the SSHO on at least two federal design-build projects, each valued at $5 million or more
• Strong heavy-civil construction experience
• OSHA 30 required
• Experience implementing EM 385-1-1 requirements, AHAs, inspections, subcontractor safety oversight, excavation, heavy equipment, lifting operations, and other heavy-civil hazards
• Border infrastructure, roadway, utility, or large linear civil construction experience preferred
