This is a high-impact leadership role at a trusted manufacturer known for its conservative growth and exceptional job security—having experienced only one layoff in nearly eight decades. Our client is currently in a major expansion phase, with plans to build new facilities over the next five years. This means constant investment in state-of-the-art machinery and custom equipment designed in-house.

As the Maintenance Operations Lead, you won't just be "fixing things"; you will be owning projects from cradle-to-grave. You will join a highly collaborative team where you can see your custom equipment builds come to life. The company views training as a priority, ensuring that you and your team are always at the forefront of new automation and control technologies. For a leader who wants to combine technical expertise with team development in a rock-solid organization, this is a rare career home.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supervising and mentoring a team of Automation & Control Technicians across shifts to ensure elite workmanship and documentation
  • Performing root-cause analysis on complex, recurring equipment issues and implementing preventative solutions
  • Developing clear, consistent training programs and a peer-to-peer mentorship system for technicians and operators
  • Managing advanced electronic repairs, assigning shift tasks, and prioritizing high-impact maintenance projects
  • Coordinating company-wide maintenance routines and overseeing various automation-related capital projects
  • Traveling occasionally to regional sites to support new equipment commissioning and ensure process standardization
  • Upholding rigorous electrical safety standards, including NFPA 70E compliance and hazard mitigation

  • Technical Leadership: 6+ years of maintenance experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role (managing technical professionals is a plus)
  • Advanced Systems: Deep knowledge of industrial controls, automation components, and integrated manufacturing systems
  • Safety Mastery: Strong background in NFPA 70E Electrical Safety and electrical hazard mitigation techniques
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage "cradle-to-grave" equipment projects and communicate effectively across departments
  • Education: An Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology or a related field (or equivalent professional experience) is required
  • Professionalism: A solid, stable work history demonstrating long-term commitment and growth
  • Requirements: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder residing within 45 minutes of the Wausau area
