Manager of DevOps & Platform Engineering

 

  • BSCS/Engineering leader with 6–8 years of mastery in DevOps, Site Reliability, and Build Systems is required
  • If you are a veteran engineer ready to architect world-class delivery pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) strategies for a high-growth environment, this is your next career chapter
  • Competitive pay is up to $165,000 annually based upon experience
  • Hybrid flexibility with 3 days onsite in the Milwaukee area and 2 days remote
  • Expert proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity/Jenkins), container orchestration (Docker), and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible/Kotlin/Python)
  • Technical leadership experience is a plus, but we will consider a Senior/Principal Engineer with a "Rock Solid" technical foundation ready to step into management
  • Deep experience with complex build environments including Cmake and Yocto/Embedded Linux systems

The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate include the following:

  • Define and lead the long-term DevOps roadmap, providing the high-level architectural guidance necessary to scale automated software delivery across a global engineering organization
  • Mentor and manage a specialized team of DevOps Engineers, utilizing advanced career-mapping tools to drive professional growth and technical progression
  • Architect next-generation automation strategies for the full development and release lifecycle, overseeing the deployment of CI/CD environments (TeamCity), Docker, and Infrastructure as Code
  • Analyze complex performance metrics and automated testing data to pinpoint architectural weaknesses and implement proactive, forward-looking infrastructure solutions
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between cross-functional engineering groups and senior leadership to ensure a unified, secure, and reliable software stack

 

The background of the successful candidate must include the following:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent high-level experience may be considered)
  • 6–8 years of direct experience in DevOps, Build Engineering, or SRE with an "Incredibly Rock Solid" technical foundation
  • Proficiency in complex build systems such as Cmake and Yocto, along with strong scripting capabilities in Python
  • A deep understanding of CI/CD pipeline architecture and the ability to recommend and implement next-generation toolsets
  • A proven ability (or strong desire) to lead a team, focusing on technical mentorship and high-level project delegation
  • A stable work history that demonstrates a commitment to long-term professional growth
  • US citizenship or Green Card status with a residence within a 45-minute drive of Milwaukee, WI
