Clinical Lab Technologist
Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Clinical Lab Technologist to enhance our laboratory team. This position is crucial for managing laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and upholding the highest quality in laboratory testing and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise laboratory testing personnel, ensuring high standards in quality control and assurance.
- Take corrective actions when test results deviate from set specifications, guaranteeing accuracy before reporting.
- Train staff and conduct regular competency assessments to uphold proficiency and address performance issues.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Review test results, manage proficiency testing, and oversee staff training and competency assessments.
- Maintain a safe laboratory environment and manage staffing, scheduling, and inventory for optimal operations.
- Facilitate effective communication across shifts for continuous compliance and prompt resolution of pending tasks.
- Contribute to hiring, training, and performance appraisals, and assist in financial and operational planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
- Valid Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from the New York State Education Department.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience, with certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology preferred.
- Strong understanding of laboratory medicine, operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in laboratory information systems and relevant software.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure with strong leadership and team development skills.
Position Details:
- Salary: $133,468 annually
- Shift: Full-time, Day shift M-F, 9 am-5 pm
- Hours per week: 35
- Interview Process: First interview via WebEx, second interview in-person
