Join a leading pathology department as a Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, where your expertise will drive our commitment to delivering superior patient care and laboratory services. We are searching for a seasoned professional to enhance our laboratory operations and ensure adherence to top industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with NYS CLEP, CAP, and TJC standards.
- Provide leadership and administrative guidance to laboratory staff, fostering a high level of proficiency and quality in all testing operations.
- Develop staffing schedules, implement cross-training initiatives, and manage staff competencies effectively.
- Supervise financial management of the laboratory, including purchasing and vendor contract evaluations.
- Ensure laboratory engagement in proficiency programs and uphold a robust quality control program.
- Develop and update laboratory procedures, ensuring all manuals are approved and current.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide technical support to laboratory staff.
- Organize continuing education and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Valid NYSED license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or Physical Sciences, or equivalent laboratory experience with supervisory duties.
- Minimum of five years of laboratory experience, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity within a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in laboratory software and systems such as Cerner, EPIC, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of ISO standards and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, totaling 35 hours per week in a dynamic laboratory environment.
