We are looking for a dedicated Horizontal Mill Machinist to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and smooth operation of our machining processes. Your expertise will play a crucial part in producing high-quality components and contributing to our commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret job packets and setup instructions for various projects.
- Secure workpieces using clamps, shims, wedges, and other tooling setups.
- Identify, locate, and load materials efficiently with cranes and fork trucks.
- Load and verify CNC programs through test runs or in-process checks, making necessary adjustments.
- Write basic CNC programs and perform edits on CAM programs as required.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure adherence to specified speeds, feeds, and tolerances.
- Document and implement process improvements for enhanced efficiency and quality.
- Deburr, clean, and finish completed parts to meet quality standards.
- Unload finished products and prepare them for the next stage of production.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Report any machine or consumable issues to management promptly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Competence with measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
- Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and geometry.
- Keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety standards.
- Mechanical aptitude with a focus on problem-solving and efficiency.
- At least one year of machining experience or completion of a relevant trade school program (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with CNC programming and CAM software edits is advantageous.

Schedule
Monday to Friday, daylight shift with overtime available as needed. Optional weekend work is also offered.
