Responsible for electro-mechanical repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance to all production and facility equipment in addition to installation of said equipment in the plant, warehouse, and office areas by performing the following duties. Electro-mechanical skillset is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.
1. Ensure the operational viability of the plant by evaluating and maintaining the proper functioning of all electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
2. Involvement with process instrumentation and automation equipment specifying and selecting control equipment to maximize automation efforts.
3. Maintain proper documentation of electrical, instrumentation and automation systems and keep files up to date including process instrumentation diagrams, block diagrams, and drawings.
4. Hands on experience with PLC/DCS and HMI architecture to aid in troubleshooting
5. Performs ladder logic programming and troubleshooting for PLC’s.
6. Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors and drives.
7. Determines the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits for electrical apparatus for repairs.
8. Perform preventative maintenance such as changing contacts, checking motors, and the operation of automated and robotic systems.
9. Adheres and actively participate in lock out/tag out practices and procedures. Keeps all documentation up to date of lock out/tag out and works with Safety Director to maintain safe practices.
10. Assists Operations Manager, supervisors, and maintenance lead with the operation of the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
11. Inspects and ensures that all operating machines and equipment conform to electrical and mechanical operational quality standards.
12. Requisitions tools, electrical test equipment and maintenance supplies required for plant operation.
13. Confers with plant manager, production manager, supervisors, and other appropriate personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines, equipment and processes.
14. Keeps maintenance area neat, clean and orderly; cleans up after completing maintenance work throughout the plant.
15. Records and files complete machine histories relating to maintenance problems and cures, trouble shooting methods, services required, spare parts and parts vendors.
16. Regular and reliable attendance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Knows, understands and follows all plant safety rules, general rules and procedures.
2. Remains current on changes in policies, procedures, and product information, attending authorized training programs and seminars.
3. Be available for monthly safety meetings, on-call and overtime work.
4. Annual, semi- annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly & daily Inspections.
5. Manage & distribute Maintenance PO numbers.
6. Misc. Duties as assigned

WORK RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE
Reports directly to Operations Manager. Works closely with production supervisors, machine operators, outside contractors and parts suppliers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
An individual must possess a high school diploma or equivalency plus 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance related field in a manufacturing environment; Electro-mechanical skills a must! Excellent safety record; ability to operate computer and a wide range of hand tools, test instruments, machining equipment and maintenance equipment; minor fabrication and welding, ability to perform mathematical calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions, decimals and percentages; ability to follow written, verbal or diagrammatic instructions or blueprints, and reading of schematic diagrams; excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; legible handwriting to record information and fill out forms; ability to delegate responsibility when appropriate; ability to: plan, prioritize and organize work effectively; work effectively under pressure and time deadlines; analyze problems (not just symptoms), propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions, carry out decisions made and follow up with feedback where appropriate.
