MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer improves production efficiency, equipment performance, and manufacturing processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on optimizing line performance, reducing downtime and waste, and leading capital projects including equipment upgrades and new line installations. The engineer works closely with Operations and Maintenance to drive continuous improvement and maximize plant productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze production data to improve line efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase OEE.

Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements using Lean and continuous improvement tools.

Lead capital projects including equipment installations, line modifications, and automation upgrades.

Support equipment commissioning, start-ups, and performance validation.

Develop and maintain SOPs, line settings, and process standards.

Conduct root cause analysis to resolve production and equipment issues.

Partner with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and plant throughput.

Support new product or packaging launches from an operational and process standpoint.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience; food or packaging manufacturing preferred.

Experience improving line efficiency and supporting high-speed production equipment.

Experience managing or supporting capital projects and equipment installations.

Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills (Lean, Six Sigma).
- This position does not offer a remote work option; the role is based on-site in Indianapolis.
