SENIOR PACKAGING SYSTEMS ENGINEER

This role is for a hands-on engineer who can keep packaging lines running, solve problems, and make continuous improvements while protecting product quality and food safety.

The purpose of the Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Packaging) is to provide support in all aspects of the liquid filling systems packaging systems. Provide focus and emphasis on continuous improvement The Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Packaging) has the authority to take immediate corrective actions when dealing with Food Safety and Food Quality issues and is required to report these issues to the Plant Manager, Packaging Manger, Plant Engineering Manager and/or Quality Manager if further action is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll be the go-to engineer for keeping our packaging lines running efficiently, safely, with quality assurance and regulatory and consistently.

• Troubleshoot and work with maintenance fixing issues with packaging equipment (fillers, sealers, conveyors)
• Improve line performance (reduce downtime, waste, and defects)
• Help install and start up new packaging equipment
• Create and improve SOPs, maintenance plans, and sanitation processes
• Investigate problems, find root causes, and implement permanent fixes
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams
• Train operators and technicians on new processes and equipment
• Ensure packaging processes meet food safety and quality standards (FDA/GMP)

QUALIFICATIONS - US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED - NO SPONSORSHIP  

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Packaging, etc.)
• 2–7 years of experience in manufacturing in a liquid filling manufacturing facility – dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, wine, beer, consumer goods or other liquid filling operation
• Hands-on experience with filling systems, packaging equipment and production lines
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Experience improving processes (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
• Understanding of food safety and quality standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF is a plus)
