Position Overview

The Senior R&D Engineer leads design and development of Class II and III medical devices, driving innovation from concept through validation and transfer to manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of advanced medical devices

• Design machined, molded, and extruded components and assemblies

• Create CAD models and detailed engineering drawings

• Perform tolerance analysis (GD&T) and design reviews

• Build prototypes and perform feasibility testing

• Apply DFSS, DFM, DFA, and Lean design principles

• Conduct design verification, validation, and process validation

• Ensure compliance with design control and quality systems

• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners

• Manage project timelines and deliverables

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or related Engineering field

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive product development experience

• Medical device development (Class II/III) required

Skills

• Proficient in CAD and engineering documentation

• Expertise in plastic design, machining, and manufacturing processes

• Strong understanding of material properties and selection

• Experience with design verification and reporting

• Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
