Engineering Release / Configuration & BOM Quality (No-PLM)
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Release / Configuration professional to strengthen release integrity in a high-mix manufacturing environment. This role ensures complete, accurate, and production-ready engineering packages before they reach the shop floor.
This is a working “player/coach” role — actively auditing real releases, improving documentation standards, and training engineers to build it right the first time.
Key Responsibilities

Implement structured release checklists (BOMs, drawings, cut lists, routings, work instructions, CNC linkage)

Enforce revision discipline and change control practices

Lead and coordinate ECN/ECO workflows

Audit release packages to eliminate missing parts and documentation errors

Develop templates and documentation standards

Drive process rigor in a no-PLM or evolving systems environment
Qualifications

7+ years in configuration management, release management, or document control supporting manufacturing

Strong BOM and ERP experience

Experience running change control without a mature PLM system

Deep understanding of machining, fabrication, and assembly documentation

Detail-oriented with strong cross-functional communication skills
