IT Operations Manager (On-Site)
Location - Genesee County, MI
Salary-$95,000-$105,000 PLUS fantastic benefits and healthcare
Our client has a brand-new role as they transition their IT function in-house. This is a chance to step into a highly visible position where you’ll help define how technology supports the business—setting the foundation, creating structure, and driving improvements from day one.
You’ll take ownership of IT operations, guide a small team (starting with one direct report), and introduce scalable, secure, and efficient ways of working across the organization.
💼 What You’ll Be Responsible For:
• Owning the day-to-day performance and reliability of IT systems and infrastructure
• Enhancing and administering our Microsoft 365 environment (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Entra ID)
• Coaching and developing IT staff while helping shape future team growth
• Building and refining processes, policies, and operational standards
• Strengthening security posture through modern cybersecurity practices
• Managing external partners and service providers
• Leading onboarding/offboarding workflows and access controls
• Tracking system health and proactively addressing issues
• Overseeing IT spend, budgeting, and cost efficiency
• Driving technology upgrades, implementations, and continuous improvements
• Serving as the go-to escalation point for complex technical challenges
• Keeping leadership informed on IT initiatives, risks, and performance
• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or a related area
• At least 1 year of experience in a leadership, management, or mentorship capacity
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and modern IT environments
• Proven ability to manage vendors and lead projects from start to finish
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate effectively across teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
