Role Summary
A specialized healthcare facility in Northern Michigan is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to deliver clinical care within their scope of practice. Operating collaboratively alongside or under the direction of supervising physicians, the provider will administer primary care, address acute and chronic patient conditions, offer urgent treatment, and coordinate with local emergency response personnel to ensure emergency service coverage.
Key Qualifications
- Physician Assistants: Graduate of an accredited PA program with current professional certification (PA-C) and active state licensure in Michigan.
- Nurse Practitioners: Active Michigan Registered Nurse license, advanced specialty nursing education, national NP certification, and valid state nurse practitioner credentials.
- Licensure Status: Credentialing and state licensing must be fully satisfied prior to starting. Candidates with pending credentials may be interviewed, evaluated, and extended a conditional offer.
- Preferred Background: Candidates possessing prior experience in emergency medical care and rural clinic environments with minimal direct oversight are highly favored.
- Professional Competencies: Strict adherence to patient privacy standards, strong interpersonal and communication skills, high autonomy, team collaboration, and professional conduct toward patients, leadership, and staff. Adaptability to cross-functional operational needs in a small clinical setting is essential.
Employment Details
- Status: Full-time, salaried position with a comprehensive benefits package (At-Will employment).
- Schedule & Coverage: Standard operations utilize a two-provider model sharing 24/7 coverage. Providers work alongside clinic leadership to establish a master schedule balancing clinical shifts, on-call duty, continuing education, and paid time off, with efforts made to prevent excessive scheduling of a single clinician.
