CNC Machinist (Mill)

- Essential qualifications for this position include:

Machining / CNC Technical Requirements

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and dimensional specifications for precision-machined components

• Strong mechanical reasoning and hands-on problem-solving capability

• Proficiency using common shop tools, including manual finishing and material removal tools

• Solid applied mathematics skills, including fractional and decimal calculations and conversions

• Demonstrated CNC machining experience (typically 2 - 4 years or equivalent technical competency)

• Ability to independently perform milling machine setups with minimal supervision

• Ability to train and support peers on milling equipment

• Ability to successfully complete a mid-level milling competency assessment (written and practical)

• Ability to read, interpret, and understand CNC programs

• Proficiency using standard precision measurement tools

• Ability to perform tool touch-offs and adjust offsets on milling machines

• Ability to evaluate tool life and select appropriate tooling applications

• Ability to respond appropriately to unexpected machine stoppages

• Ability to identify unacceptable surface finishes and implement corrective actions

• Understanding of speeds and feeds adjustments

• Ability to perform basic machine and process troubleshooting

• Ability to set up and run parts efficiently while minimizing scrap

• Ability to operate multiple machines simultaneously

• Ability to maintain productivity levels consistent with team standards

General Qualifications

• • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with adequate manual dexterity

  • Experience using overhead lifting devices

  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment
