Sr. Machinist with Mill and Lathe experience

- Essential qualifications for this position include:

Machining / CNC Technical Requirements

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and dimensional specifications for precision-machined components

• Strong mechanical reasoning and hands-on problem-solving capability

• Proficiency using common shop tools, including manual finishing and material removal tools

• Solid applied mathematics skills, including fractional and decimal calculations and conversions

• Demonstrated advanced CNC machining experience (typically 5+ years or equivalent technical competency)

• Capable of diagnosing machining issues, identifying root causes, and modifying programs when appropriate

• Experience mentoring or supporting less-experienced operators across multiple machines

• Comfortable evaluating cutting tool performance and selecting proper tooling for the application

• Ability to respond effectively to unplanned machine interruptions and safely resume production

• Skilled in identifying surface quality issues and implementing corrective actions

• Working knowledge of adjusting machining parameters to optimize performance and quality

• Proven ability to perform setups and production runs while minimizing scrap and rework

• Experience operating more than one piece of production equipment concurrently

General Manufacturing Qualifications

• Ability to understand and carry out both written and verbal work instructions

• Physical capability to handle materials weighing up to approximately 40 lbs

• Experience working with material-handling systems, including powered lifting equipment

• Familiarity with industrial transport tools such as forklifts, carts, and related equipment
