CNC Mill Programmer
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Mill Programmer Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision parts to engineering specifications. You will play a key role in process improvement initiatives, new product introduction (NPI), and ongoing quality assurance — bringing both technical expertise and a problem-solving mindset to every project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine Programming & Operation
• Develop and optimize CNC mill programs using CAD/CAM software (Fusion 360 or equivalent)
• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines to produce parts to tight tolerances
• Machine parts as required to meet production schedules and quality standards
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and work orders accurately
Process Improvement
• Identify inefficiencies in machining workflows and implement process improvements
• Optimize toolpaths, feeds, speeds, and fixturing to reduce cycle times and improve quality
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to enhance manufacturing processes
New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Support NPI activities including first article runs, process planning, and design for manufacturability feedback
• Develop programs and work instructions for new part numbers entering production
• Coordinate with engineering on prototype and pre-production builds
Troubleshooting & Debugging
• Diagnose and resolve machining issues including tool wear, dimensional nonconformances, and program errors
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Maintain detailed documentation of troubleshooting actions and resolutions
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Required
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on CNC mill machining experience in a production environment
• Demonstrated machine programming experience (conversational and/or G-code)
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software — Fusion 360 strongly preferred; equivalent platforms considered
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred
• Experience supporting NPI programs and first article inspections
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Kaizen)
• Knowledge of multiple CNC machine platforms and controllers (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, etc.)
• Background in aerospace, medical device, or high-precision manufacturing environments
