School-Based Speech Language Pathologist

This Speech-Language Pathologist role is based in Jacksonville, FL and is also open to candidates in Pensacola, St. Augustine, Bonifay, and Green Cove Springs, FL.
About the Role:
This role focuses on assessing and treating children with speech, language, communication, or swallowing challenges. The SLP will design individualized therapy programs, work closely with students and families, and collaborate with educational staff and other professionals to support student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapy programs.
- Counsel students and their families regarding assessment results and recommended interventions.
- Establish clear treatment goals and expectations for students.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all sessions and progress reports.
- Assign appropriate tasks to support staff when necessary.
- Collaborate with school personnel and external agencies following professional and state guidelines.
- Refer students to relevant medical specialists (e.g., dentistry, psychology) as needed.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience working with children in a school or educational setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated passion for helping children reach their full potential.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must hold an active SLP license or certification prior to the start date.
- CPR certification required.
- TB test, valid driver’s license, and personal transportation required.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum: Associate degree or completion of a Speech-Language Pathology certificate program.
- Preferred: Experience working with children in educational or pediatric settings.
- Full-time commitment in a school-based environment.
- Candidates already licensed may be eligible for H1B sponsorship.
