Government Construction Superintendent (Municipal Projects)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Government Construction Superintendent to oversee municipal and public-sector construction projects throughout Massachusetts. The ideal candidate must possess a valid Massachusetts Superintendent License and have extensive experience managing construction projects within government, municipal, educational, or public facilities. This individual will be responsible for supervising all field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and contract requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL) required.
- Construction supervision experience.
- Demonstrated experience working on government and municipal construction projects.
- Proven experience overseeing renovations, additions, and new construction of municipal buildings, schools, public safety facilities, administrative offices, libraries, DPW facilities, or similar public-sector projects.
- Strong knowledge of Massachusetts building codes, OSHA regulations, and public procurement requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site construction activities from project initiation through completion.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, architects, engineers, and municipal representatives.
- Ensure compliance with contract documents, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Monitor project schedules and maintain progress toward milestone completion.
- Conduct regular site meetings and provide project updates to stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve construction issues, conflicts, and delays.
- Maintain project documentation, daily logs, safety reports, and inspection records.
- Ensure adherence to prevailing wage requirements and public-sector construction regulations.
- Coordinate inspections and facilitate project closeout activities.
