Profitable, growing chemical manufacturer is seeking a Project Manager to lead multiple projects in a high-volume, process-oriented manufacturing environment.  Daily you will report to the VP of Operations, oversee a Project Engineer and will be responsible for the following tasks:
 
  • Oversee all aspects of multiple capital equipment projects, from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, operations) to define project scope, feasibility, and resource allocation.
  • Effectively manage vendors and contractors to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead the validation process, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Successfully transition completed projects to operations, providing comprehensive documentation and training.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers regarding project expectations, progress, and timelines.
  • Proactively address customer inquiries and concerns, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels to gather information, facilitate decision-making, and ensure project success.
  • Develop and optimize line layouts and modifications to enhance production efficiency and safety.
  • Contribute to the development of process flow diagrams in collaboration with the process engineering team.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of HAZMAT requirements and regulations, ensuring compliance in all projects.
  • Establish and maintain equipment standards to promote consistency and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within capital projects.
  • Provide support for capital projects across three facilities, each at various stages of development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support overall business objectives.
 
Candidates should be detail oriented, have excellent problem solving skills, be able to prioritize tasks, be improvement minded and able to communicate at a levels.  Individuals should enjoy spending 20-30% or more of their time on the manufacturing floor.  This is a high-profile position that reports directly to the VP of Operations.  The company offers EXCELLENT medical benefits (including dental and vision), profit sharing and bonus potential, paternity leave, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation and personal days.  Medical benefits are available the first of the month after start. REQUIREMENTS for the Project Manager:1. Bachelor's Degree in a technical field; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering are highly preferred 
2. Minimum of three years of similar project management experience 3. Experience working in process oriented manufacturing (such as chemical, food, beverage), including a blending/mixing batch process 
4. Experience overseeing capital equipment projects, including timelines and budgets
5. Experience working on multiple discipline projects (mechanical, electrical, civil, etc.)  6. Blueprint reading experience 
7. Knowledge of related codes, NFPA, ASME, etc. 8. Working knowledge of Gantt charts 9. Microsoft OfficeSkills preferred but NOT required:1. PMP certification 
2. Consumer products manufacturing 3. APQP and/or validation experience 
4. Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies and/or certification
5. Power BI
