The Production Superintendent is responsible for directing and coordinating all 2nd shift plant production activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality food products. This leader will drive operational excellence while maintaining compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring production goals are met, quality standards are upheld, and employees operate in a safe and productive environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Food manufacturing industry experience highly preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of leadership/managerial experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory compliance, and food safety standards (USDA experience highly valued).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities.
- Highly organized with strong leadership and team development skills.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate between shifts, supervisors, and departments.
- Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (4:00pm – 1:00am), Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends.
- Comfortable working in strong smells, loud, hot/cold, refrigerated, and freezer environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Meat Science, Business, or related field.
- Experience with budgeting, capital expenditure planning, and production cost optimization.
- Familiarity with McDonald’s or other food service production standards.
- Experience implementing process improvements and waste reduction programs.
- Progressive managerial experience in food or protein manufacturing.
