Integration Engineer (CONTRACTOR) | Healthcare

The Integration Engineer (Contractor) will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of data integration solutions within the InterSystems HealthShare platform.

This role plays a critical part in enabling the seamless exchange, transformation, and optimization of clinical and operational data across multiple healthcare systems. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in healthcare data standards, interface development, and the software development lifecycle, with the ability to independently deliver scalable integration solutions.

Contract duration: 5-6 months with strong potential for extension or full-time conversion

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in software development and system integration
• Hands-on experience with healthcare integration standards: HL7 v2 (ADT and clinical messages required) | CCD / C-CDA document exchange
• Strong understanding of interface engines and healthcare data exchange architectures
• Experience with file parsing and transformation (XML, XSLT, etc.)
• Familiarity with X12 transactions is a plus
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
