Director of Finance | Non-Profit

Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
- Manage budgeting processes, forecasts, and cost control measures to optimize resource allocation
- Conduct risk analysis and implement risk management practices to safeguard organizational assets
- Supervise treasury functions such as cash flow analysis, investment management, and banking relationships
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations, regulatory reporting standards, and nonprofit-specific accounting practices like ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition)
- Oversee general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and balance sheet accuracy
- Provide leadership in strategic planning sessions to align financial goals with programmatic objectives
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely completion of audit procedures
- Develop financial policies and procedures that promote transparency, efficiency, and accountability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- Extensive experience in corporate accounting, nonprofit accounting, and public accounting environments
- Strong knowledge of IAS (International Accounting Standards), IFRS, GAAP, and ASC 606 standards
- Proven expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and cost management
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and influence organizational direction
- Experience with financial software systems and advanced proficiency in financial report writing and interpretation
- Deep understanding of risk analysis methods and risk management strategies within a nonprofit context
- Excellent communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and presenting complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Ability to navigate governmental regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements
