Ashton North is representing a client in search of an accomplished Institutional Strategic Director. This position partners with leaders in the Funding Products Group to develop and implement strategic, tailored solutions for sophisticated institutional members, including depository institutions and insurance companies. The role is central to driving growth, strengthening relationships, and providing strategic guidance to help members achieve their financial objectives.
Design and implement advanced strategies for institutional members leveraging expertise in capital markets, liquidity management, debt issuance, investments (CMBS, mortgage-structured products, municipals), and derivative hedging.
Analyze balance sheets and capital markets conditions to recommend tailored funding and risk management solutions.
Build trusted, long-term relationships with members ranging from small credit unions to global banks and large insurance companies.
Support client’s sales and education initiatives by developing tutorials, presentations, strategy articles, and case studies.
Monitor market trends and competitive positioning to identify new opportunities for product innovation and utilization.
Collaborate with relationship managers on complex financial topics requiring deep technical knowledge.
Lead a high-performance team of three professionals, balancing strategy design, team leadership, and member engagement.
Advocate for enhancements in funding products and services based on member needs.
Communicate complex financial strategies clearly to senior executives across varied institutions.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required; Master’s or CFA preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience in treasury/financial management, insurance, asset management, investment banking, or financial consulting.
Deep technical expertise in derivatives, fixed income securities, mortgage-backed securities, and financial theory.
Strong knowledge of asset-liability management, interest rate risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
Prior experience working with complex financial organizations, especially insurance company balance sheets.
Proven leadership of high-performing teams with a balance of strategic and relationship-building skills.
Excellent executive presence, communication, and influence with senior leaders.
Proficiency with CRM systems, Excel, PowerBI, Bloomberg, SQL, or similar platforms.
Demonstrated understanding of member balance sheets and business needs.
Identified opportunities for product application to member challenges.
Built collaborative relationships internally and externally.
Shown aptitude for developing and communicating innovative financial strategies.
