Field-based role. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of one of the organization’s regional offices.
Overview
A growing construction services organization is seeking certified Special Inspectors to support field inspection activities across commercial and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on monitoring construction and installation of structural elements to ensure compliance with approved plans, applicable codes, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Perform special inspections on active construction sites, including welding, bolting, reinforced concrete, and structural masonry.

Review construction drawings and project specifications in preparation for field inspections.

Travel to job sites and conduct inspections in accordance with building codes and contract requirements.

Operate, calibrate, and maintain field and laboratory equipment as required.

Complete and submit accurate electronic daily field reports, including clear summaries of work performed and observations.

Maintain professional communication with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.

Ensure inspection documentation meets all regulatory and internal quality standards.

Provide excellent customer service and represent the organization professionally in the field.

Assist with limited project coordination or administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of field testing or inspection experience required.

Required certifications may include ICC, CWI, WAQTC, or other special inspection credentials depending on project requirements.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in active construction environments.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment

Onsite, field-based role with frequent travel to construction sites.

Regular exposure to outdoor environments and varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.

Physical requirements include walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs (up to 75 lbs with assistance).

Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays during peak construction seasons (typically March through November).
