Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient coordination of all outbound shipping activities within a steel manufacturing environment. This role ensures timely shipment execution, proper load configuration, and effective communication across production, planning, and inventory functions. The supervisor also oversees yard operations and supports continuous flow of materials from production to outbound delivery.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred
· 5+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse coordination in a manufacturing environment (steel or heavy industry preferred)
· Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Coordinate daily shipping operations to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of finished steel tube products
· Plan and prioritize upcoming shipments based on production schedules, customer requirements, and carrier availability
· Build and manage outbound loads within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), ensuring data accuracy and proper documentation
· Check in and stage inbound/outbound trucks, verifying appointment schedules, load assignments, and compliance requirements
· Direct and coordinate truck loading activities to ensure loading meets all applicable requirements
· Act as a liaison between shipping, production planning, and inventory control to align material availability with shipment schedules
· Manage laydown yard operations, including product staging, organization, and inventory visibility
· Monitor yard flow to prevent congestion and ensure efficient truck turnaround times
· Verify shipment documentation (BOLs, packing lists, etc.) for accuracy and completeness prior to dispatch
· Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements related to shipping and yard operations
· Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or operational bottlenecks in real time
· Maintain accurate records and system updates related to shipments, inventory movements, and yard status
