We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join a leading legal team specializing in Aviation and Transportation Finance. This role is based in New York, NY, and is open to individuals with a strong background in global asset finance and transportation financial transactions.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will take on a pivotal position as a Senior Associate or Of Counsel, managing intricate financial transactions that are crucial to the aviation and transportation sectors. This includes leading complex domestic and international asset-backed securitizations and credit facilities with significant autonomy throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financing, leasing, and acquisition of high-value aviation assets, such as commercial aircraft and related equipment.
  • Navigate complex regulatory requirements, including the Cape Town Convention and International Registry, to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Draft and negotiate sophisticated credit instruments, indentures, and lease agreements for transactions exceeding $100 million.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel on the enforcement of rights and restructuring of debt obligations.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across various jurisdictions to facilitate seamless cross-border transactions.
  • Apply expertise in UCC Article 9 to secured lending structures and asset-backed transactions.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with exemplary academic performance.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in a major international law firm.
  • Active membership in the New York State Bar in good standing.
  • Proven experience in managing and closing financing transactions valued at $100 million or more.
  • In-depth knowledge of UCC Article 9, the Cape Town Convention, and corporate law.

Skills

  • Experience with Export Credit Agency (ECA) supported financing or aviation-related capital markets offerings.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a portfolio of high-volume matters.
  • Exceptional communication skills to advise C-level executives and stakeholders.
  • Advanced understanding of global aviation market dynamics and economic trends.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $390,000 to $435,000, commensurate with expertise and experience, along with an elite-tier benefits package.
