Position Summary
The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer designs instrumentation and control systems to support customers and company projects. I&C Engineer specifies components and software from various manufacturers to meet project specifications. I&C Engineer produces Industrial Control Panel designs that meet UL508A/698 requirements.
The I&C Engineer is a member of our engineering staff and supports jobs and proposal activities including review of specifications and production of submittals and estimates at the direction of senior staff. The I&C Engineer collaborates with our drafting department to produce completed designs. This is a mid level position, typical career progressions based on interest and aptitude are I&C Engineer > Senior I&C Engineer OR System Architect OR Senior Systems Engineer.
Responsibilities
Industrial Control Panel design
Component and design submittal preparation
Technical documentation, operation and maintenance manual preparation
Obtain/maintain certification as a UL Manufacturer Technical Representative (MTR)
Qualifications
Experience working with integrated processes or electrical control systems
Proficient or able to quickly gain proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical
Demonstrate sound understanding of electrical principles
Knowledge of instrumentation and measurement principles
Ability to reason and apply critical thinking
Ability to lift to 50 lbs., stand, sit, crouch or lay for extended periods
Possess and maintain valid driver's license and other identification as required
