Position Summary
This opportunity supports a rapidly expanding, autonomous business unit within a well-capitalized global organization, operating in a high-mix, low-volume, custom engineered-to-order environment. The Power Electronics Design Engineer will have end-to-end ownership of electrical power electronics design—from early concept through validation, production, and field support—working on technically complex, customer-driven solutions. This is a highly visible role with strong cross-functional exposure and meaningful influence as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities

Lead electrical power electronics design from preliminary concept through final design, validation, and production support

Analyze and evaluate new and existing designs using simulation tools, analytical methods, and test data

Develop technical proposals, design documentation, test plans, and test reports

Design, build, and test prototypes to validate performance and design intent

Support production and fielded products through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and design updates

Maintain design control, documentation integrity, and configuration management

Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program teams

Participate in design reviews and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Manage multiple priorities while meeting schedule, cost, and performance objectives
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Minimum of 3 years of experience in an electrical design or power electronics environment

Experience designing, analyzing, and testing:

AC/DC power systems (including three-phase AC)

DC/DC converters
-
High-voltage circuits (2kV and above preferred)

Proficiency with electrical simulation and analysis tools (e.g., SPICE, SIMPLIS, SIMetrix)

Experience with 2D/3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)

MATLAB and/or LabVIEW experience a plus

Strong technical documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- US citizenship or perm residency required.
