Overview
We’re hiring a Facilities Maintenance Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and reliability of key mechanical and utility systems at a large industrial site.
This role focuses on critical infrastructure including multiple chiller systems, steam systems, air compressors, and associated pumps, tanks, and support equipment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable operation across active work areas, while also supporting major outages, construction integration, and commissioning efforts.
Note: This position includes on-call responsibilities and may require flexibility in scheduling, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Chiller Systems Operations & Maintenance
Oversee operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of multiple chiller systems
Support lift planning, delivery coordination, outage schedules, and installation sequencing for new equipment
Ensure proper operation of pumps, glycol systems, piping, and controls
Maintain documentation related to refrigerant handling and system performance
Steam System Operations & Maintenance
Supervise operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of steam plant systems
Maintain steam pressure and quality to meet operational requirements
Coordinate outage planning and shutdown scheduling
Air Compressors & Utility Systems
Manage operation and maintenance of air compressors and pneumatic distribution systems
Ensure consistent support of plant processes and mechanical systems
Control Systems & Monitoring
Support integration and monitoring of building and energy management systems
Ensure operational data, alarms, and performance metrics are tracked and addressed in real time
Team Leadership & Site Coordination
Lead and supervise a team of multi-disciplinary O&M technicians
Coordinate daily activities with site stakeholders and subcontractors
Lead troubleshooting efforts, system walkdowns, lockout/tagout reviews, and readiness assessments
Communicate site status, risks, and constraints clearly to leadership and project teams
Safety, Compliance & Documentation
Enforce safety standards, environmental regulations, and permit-to-work processes
Maintain accurate documentation including logs, outage plans, equipment data, and system drawings
What They’re Looking For
Required
5+ years of operations & maintenance experience with mechanical systems, HVAC, process chillers, or industrial utilities
Strong understanding of BAS/BMS systems, pumps, steam systems, and piping layouts
Experience leading teams in an industrial or large-scale facility environment
EPA Section 608 Certification
Preferred
Experience supporting major utility outages
Ohio Boiler & Pressure Vessel Operator License
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (SLC)
Experience with Ignition SCADA/HMI
Familiarity with modern building or energy management platforms
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $76,100 – $104,600 (DOE)
