We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented SMT Process Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence for advanced electronic assemblies. In this role, you will be the technical expert for our Surface Mount Technology lines, overseeing equipment programming, process validation, and the optimization of high-reliability Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA).
Key Responsibilities

Equipment Programming: Direct programming and optimization of SMT equipment, including Screen Printers, Pick & Place machines, and Reflow ovens.

Process Architecture: Design, implement, and improve workflows for CCAs, electronics box assemblies, and associated ground support equipment.

Tooling & Design: Utilize SolidWorks CAD to design specialized manufacturing fixtures and tooling for production technicians.

New Product Introduction (NPI): Partner with design teams to ensure manufacturability and validate processes for new space and aerospace-grade hardware.

Standards Compliance: Ensure all processes meet the rigorous requirements of IPC J-STD and NASA 8739 standards.

Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to analyze production data, troubleshoot inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions for complex electronic builds.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related technical field).

Experience: 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role (5+ years preferred for senior-level placement).

Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, process design, and quality systems within an electronics environment.

Software Skills: Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks) and SMT programming suites.

Compliance: Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required (U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency typically required).
Preferred Skills

Direct experience with Select Solder, SMT Pick & Place, and Reflow processes.

Industry background in Aerospace, Space, or high-reliability PCBA manufacturing.

Certification in Lean/Six Sigma (Yellow Belt or higher).

Familiarity with translating complex engineering drawings into actionable work instructions.
