This is an executive leadership opportunity at a high-volume, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) located on the north side of the Houston metro area. The facility is a key provider in the region.
Capacity: 4 Operating Rooms and 2 Procedure Rooms.
Specialties: The facility focuses on procedures in Gastroenterology (GI), Pain Management, and Colorectal surgery.
The Director is the crucial Executive-level leader, responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the facility's operating functions, processes, and staff. The successful candidate will efficiently provide surgical services that exceed customer expectations while driving continuous improvement in both clinical outcomes and financial operations. This role serves as the essential liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff, and all facility departments.
Clinical Compliance: Ensure all surgical programs and clinical services meet the respective components of regulatory body and accrediting body standards.
Nursing Oversight: Manage the clinical departments including nursing, central supply, medical records, and housekeeping, and supervise contracted clinical services (e.g., pharmaceuticals, biomedical engineering).
Quality Program: Develop, evaluate, and promote a continuous quality improvement (QPI) program. Administer the infection control program and serve as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee.
Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee in the evaluation and development of existing and new surgical services.
Strategy: Deploy, monitor, and ensure that operational processes are integrated within the facility's QPI program, utilizing corporate methodology (e.g., EDGE™).
Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and control the operations budget and capital budget. Closely monitor financial performance variations to maintain positive cash flow.
Contracts: Negotiate and control all external contracts (physicians, ancillary services, plant maintenance).
Pricing: Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and local market standards.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
Leadership (Growth Minded): Manage all exempt and non-exempt employees utilizing sound principles of practice and fairness. Build strong relationships with physicians and maintain a high level of engagement.
Productivity: Develop employee productivity analysis, utilizing corporate tracking tools (e.g., Staff Tracker), to assure efficient staff levels based on surgical case volume.
Liaison: Act as the liaison between the Home Office and all staff, leading discussions during Monthly Operations Review calls.
Sales/Marketing: Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan and lead the facility's sales team in accordance with the corporate Sales Plan.
