Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Sr. Manager, Technology & Systems to support finance and operations within a large, established organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building solutions from the ground up, working with complex financial data, and partnering with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines, system integrations, and automation solutions across tax and finance functions
- Serve as the tax department representative on enterprise data warehouse and data platform initiatives, partnering closely with IT and architecture teams
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting infrastructure to support tax compliance and leadership visibility
- Develop Power Automate workflows and RPA solutions to streamline and automate tax processes
- Configure, optimize, and support enterprise platforms including ERP systems and specialized tax technology tools
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Tax, Finance, IT, Accounting) to gather requirements and deliver scalable system solutions
- Lead projects from planning through execution, including testing, deployment, and post-go-live support
- Maintain system documentation, internal controls, and best practices; provide end-user training
- Manage user access, system updates, and vendor/consultant relationships
- Ensure systems and processes align with internal controls, compliance, and audit requirements (including SOX 404)
- Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability
Required Qualifications:
- 7–10+ years of experience in systems, technology, or business applications within finance, tax, or related functions
- Experience with enterprise data warehousing, data lakes, or EDW architecture (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with Power BI and/or Power Platform (Power Automate strongly preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems — Oracle preferred; SAP, Workday, or similar considered
- Familiarity with financial and tax-related data (GL, cost centers, account codes, master data)
- Experience with SQL, Python, Alteryx, or RPA tools (UiPath, Blue Prism, etc.)
- Strong project management and stakeholder management experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting tax, compliance, or financial reporting functions
- Exposure to SOX controls and audit requirements
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Accounting, or related field
