Overview
The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for supporting vendor quality oversight activities within a regulated life sciences environment. This role focuses on vendor performance monitoring, quality metrics, scorecards, change controls, qualification support, and cross-functional communication.

The ideal candidate is organized, self-managed, timely, and comfortable working with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and leaders. This person should understand vendor audits and audit-related processes, but this is not an auditor role and will not be responsible for performing audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support routine vendor quality management activities across assigned vendor categories.
  • Monitor vendor performance metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and quality trends.
  • Maintain vendor quality documentation, trackers, and reporting tools.
  • Support vendor qualification and requalification activities.
  • Assist with vendor change control review, tracking, coordination, and follow-up.
  • Identify vendor quality risks, trends, or performance concerns and escalate as appropriate.
  • Partner with Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Present vendor quality updates, metrics, risks, and action items to internal SMEs and leadership.
  • Support quality governance meetings, vendor reviews, and internal business forums.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives related to vendor quality systems, reporting, and oversight.
  • Ensure vendor quality activities are completed accurately, timely, and in alignment with internal procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of vendor audit processes and outcomes without directly performing audits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, technical, quality, or related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in quality, vendor quality, supplier quality, quality operations, or a regulated life sciences environment.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biologics, medical device, or other regulated industry preferred.
  • Experience with vendor quality oversight, vendor performance management, or supplier quality activities.
  • Experience using Power BI or similar dashboard/reporting tools.
  • Experience using Veeva or similar quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with vendor scorecards, vendor change controls, qualification activities, and vendor quality documentation.
  • Understanding of GMP, GDP, or other applicable quality/regulatory requirements.

  • Strong follow-through and ability to drive routine activities to completion.
  • Understanding of vendor audits, vendor quality expectations, and audit readiness concepts.
