Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and administer an adequate plan for the control of operations which include profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, accounts receivable, cost standards, savings opportunities, and capital investing together with the necessary controls and procedures to execute the plan.
  • Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal controls, internal auditing and ensuring proper insurance coverage.
  • Compare performance with operating plans and standards. Will provide reports and interpret the results of operations to all levels of management. This includes the formulation of accounting policies; the preparation of financial statements and operating data; the coordination of systems and procedures; and special reports as required.
  • Responsible for financial statements being prepared in accordance with company policies and US GAAP.
  • Will be responsible for ensuring that financial internal controls are in place and properly functioning.
  • Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
  • Will provide other company units with related information necessary to fulfill their assigned responsibility.
  • Implement a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan.
  •  Will keep key level management informed of the division’s performance and provides advice on all financial matters.
  • Execute cash disbursements for payment of divisional expenditures in accordance with corporate disbursement and policies.
  • Develop and present to the President and CEO matters requiring their attention and decision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education and Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and/or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience ideally gained through increasingly responsible management positions in Accounting or Finance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum two (2) years of recent experience as a Controller with responsibility for accounts, budgeting, cost accounting, credit and collections, and finance. Preferably annual sales of over $25 million.
  • Affiliations with successful manufacturing companies preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems and well-developed financial analysis capabilities. Must demonstrate ability to manage microcomputer operations and applications.
  • Advance administrative skills, well-developed management skills, principles, and people skills.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
  • Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Must be well-organized and detail oriented.
  • Must have participative management style that advocates team concept.
  • Must have the ability to establish credibility and be decisive yet able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be results and profit oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
