Transportation Project Lead - Senior Civil Engineer

You already know how to get a design right. The next step is owning the whole job: the scope, the team, the budget and the client who calls when something moves.

A well-established design firm in Buffalo needs a senior engineer to run transportation projects from first conversation to final bid set. The portfolio spans highways, streetscapes, green infrastructure and utility work, and this person decides how it gets done.

You’d build the teams, set the standard and be the face of the work.

What you’ll be doing:

• Serving as the main contact and trusted advisor for your clients
• Coaching and supervising engineers and technicians so they grow and the work stays sharp
• Owning results: technical quality, financial performance and on-time delivery
• Writing scopes, work plans, schedules and budgets
• Guiding feasibility studies, alternatives analyses and project reports
• Bringing contract plans, specifications and estimates in on time and on budget
• Making sure every deliverable is reviewed in detail and meets applicable standards

What we’re looking for:

• Roughly a decade or more designing highways and other public works or utility projects, with project management experience
• NY Professional Engineer license
• Strong communicator, with clients and with your own team
• Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
• MicroStation or OpenRoads, and green infrastructure modeling, are a plus but not required
