Commercial Real Estate Attorney (4-7 year)

A nationally respected boutique law firm is seeking a midlevel Commercial Real Estate Transactional Attorney to join its established Real Estate Practice Group serving long-standing institutional clients, including religious organizations, schools, and nonprofit entities.

This is a client-facing role for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, direct interaction with decision makers, and ownership of sophisticated commercial real estate matters.

The Role

You will work directly with executive directors, trustees, and boards on complex real estate transactions that are steady, substantive, and collaborative.

This is not a high-volume closings position. It is a thoughtful transactional practice where judgment, drafting ability, and client presence matter.

Responsibilities

·       Lead acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate

·       Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements

·       Handle commercial leases and license agreements

·       Manage transactions from term sheet through closing

·       Conduct due diligence including title, survey, corporate, and document review

·       Communicate directly with institutional clients and stakeholders

·       Collaborate closely with partners in a collegial, low-ego environment

What Success Looks Like

·       Ability to independently manage transactions with limited oversight

·       Strong drafting and negotiation skills

·       Clear, confident communication with non-lawyer clients

·       Sound judgment and calm, steady presence

·       Team oriented and low ego approach

·

Compensation & Structure

·       Competitive base salary in the $150,000 to $210,000 range, depending on experience

·       401K and full benefits

·       Hybrid schedule

·       Supportive culture with a reasonable billable expectation

Ideal Candidate

·       4–7 years of commercial real estate transactional experience

·       Admitted to the New York State Bar

·       Experience running deals from inception through closing

This opportunity is well suited for an attorney who values relationship-driven work over volume-driven production and who takes pride in being trusted directly with clients and matters.
