Our wonderful new client - a global freight forwarder with project cargo expertise - is now hiring a Pricing Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Negotiate rates for import and export transportation projects that include out-of-gauge / bulk / special equipment / Roll-On Roll-Off and other overdimensional cargo.
Respond to bids, RFIs, RFQs, and pricing requests.
Develop, evaluate and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Work closely with airlines, steamship lines, truckers, warehouses, and other vendors for pricing, terms, and space.
Collaborate with operations, sales and commercial teams in the development of solutions for complex cargo.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, evaluate and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Work closely with airlines, steamship lines, truckers, warehouses, and other vendors for pricing, terms, and space.
Collaborate with operations, sales and commercial teams in the development of solutions for complex cargo.
Prepare detailed proposals, including itemized quotes and clearly defined terms and conditions.
Ensure rates are both competitive and profitable.
Oversee timely, compliant filing of rates, contracts and amendments as needed.
Analyze both won and lost opportunities from a pricing perspective.
Guide and inform colleagues and clients in pricing and carrier-related matters.
Travel (by road or air) to meet customers, colleagues, or vendors.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in freight forwarding or related project cargo environment.
Familiar with basic requirements for transporting oversized cargo.
Understanding of pricing mechanisms including base rates, surcharges, contract terms, validity, and all other aspects.
Knowledge of project cargo transportation and modalities including special equipment, ocean, air, rail, ground, handling requirements, warehousing, and value added services.
Ability to read service contracts, interpret quotes, and surcharges, and clearly communicate rates, routing, carrier and service information to colleagues, agents, and customers.
Computer savvy - CargoWise experience is a plus.
Travel as necessary for client and inter-company meetings.
