Leading materials supplier is now hiring an experienced professional to oversee delivery of ocean import and domestic shipments.
This role requires collaboration with business partners to facilitate smooth transportation of cargo, prioritize tasks, minimize delays, and avoid penalties.
This role has the potential to evolve and advance. Successful candidates should demonstrate a track record of progression, ambition, and the ability to manage the "big picture."
Key Responsibilities:
Produce and gather documents necessary for compliance and clearance.
Track and trace shipments and provide status reports.
Work with CHB on ISF, entries, and release from all agencies.
Arrange warehousing, storage and trucking with approved partners.
Pay vendors timely to avoid storage/demurrage/per diem fees.
Maintain quotes, costs and profit information for each file.
Address and resolve discrepancies and problems with urgency.
Monitor performance of vendors for accuracy and efficiency.

Engage in process improvement initiatives.
Attributes/Skills Required:
Hands-on, in-depth experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of ocean cargo transportation and Customs procedures.
Understanding of shipping documents including bills of lading.
Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
Proficient with carrier tracking systems, operations software, and MS Office.
Does not wilt under the stress and pressure of deadlines, problems and changes.
