Highly respected, established freight forwarder is hiring a Customs Brokerage professional.

Main Responsibilities:
Review documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
Research, assign, validate, and recommend HTS classifications for imported goods using product descriptions, supporting documentation, internal databases, EDI feeds, and applicable U.S. tariff requirements.
Handle complex and high-volume classification work, including “copy/paste” classifications, classification projects, and classification requirements related to EU and Canadian HTS.
Prepare quotations for services and fees, track monetary transactions, and investigate discrepancies
Handle ISF, entry writing, RLF, import licenses, FDA product codes, binding ruling applications, and MID numbers.
Execute protocols for cargo holds, exams, and requests for additional information.

Guide customers and colleagues on matters of brokerage and trade compliance.

Arrange delivery to final destination and obtain proof of delivery.
Comply with all SOPs, laws, rules, and regulations.
Main Requirements:
Relevant, hands-on experience with a freight forwarder, CHB or related field.
Current knowledge of import operations and Customs brokerage procedures.
Able to prioritize tasks to expedite clearance and avoid penalties.
Familiar with CBP CROSS, Incoterms, international trade regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
Understanding of free trade agreements, Chapter 98, Section 301, and Section 232.
Effective and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Comply with all SOPs, laws, rules, and regulations.
