Special Projects Advisor

This role requires candidates who are currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, and C2C arrangements are not accepted. This role is remote with required travel.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Special Projects Advisor specializing in physical and electronic security systems. This role combines security consulting, system design, client advisory, and project coordination for highly customized residential and executive environments.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, architects, general contractors, vendors, integrators, and other trades to develop comprehensive physical security solutions. Projects may include executive residences, high-end properties, executive offices, yachts, safe rooms, vaults, perimeter security, and other specialized environments.

This is a physical and electronic security position—not a cybersecurity or software security role. Candidates should have substantial knowledge of electronic security systems, including access control, surveillance, alarms, electronic locking hardware, and related technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Meet with clients and client representatives to understand security requirements, operational needs, and project objectives.
• Develop physical and electronic security solutions based on project-specific requirements.
• Determine appropriate security device placement, system configuration, and equipment specifications.
• Design and specify surveillance systems, access control systems, alarm systems, electronic locking hardware, and related security technologies.
• Explain the technical reasoning behind security design recommendations.
• Coordinate security requirements with architects, general contractors, engineers, vendors, integrators, and other construction trades.
• Translate security requirements into plans and specifications that can be incorporated into architectural and construction projects.
• Develop preliminary and rough-order-of-magnitude project budgets.
• Prepare scopes of work, specifications, and bid documentation for security integrators and vendors.
• Review vendor and integrator proposals and assist with technical evaluation and selection.
• Provide project management support involving project phases, dependencies, schedules, requirements, and costs.
• Participate in site visits, design meetings, construction coordination meetings, and project reviews.
• Maintain detailed documentation and ensure client requirements are accurately captured and addressed.
• Provide informed recommendations while allowing clients to make final decisions regarding their properties and security programs.
• Support specialized physical security measures such as safe rooms, vaults, ballistic protection, fencing, perimeter detection, and other hardened security solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Strong professional experience designing or implementing electronic and physical security systems.
• Advanced understanding of surveillance cameras, alarm systems, access control, electronic locking hardware, and related security technologies.
• Ability to independently determine appropriate system design, device placement, and equipment specifications.
• Ability to explain the technical reasoning behind security design recommendations.
• Experience working directly with architects, general contractors, construction teams, vendors, and other trades.
• Strong understanding of construction coordination, project phasing, dependencies, budgeting, and implementation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to accurately capture and respond to client requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
• Ability to remain calm, diplomatic, and solutions-oriented when working with demanding clients or project stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities.
• High degree of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and judgment.
• Ability to travel regularly.
• Must reside within reasonable access to a major international airport.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Physical Security Consultant, Security Designer, Security Systems Designer, Electronic Security Engineer, Security Project Manager, or similar role.
• Experience with a physical security consulting or design firm.
• Background with a security systems integrator, particularly in design, operations, project management, or technical sales.
• Corporate physical security experience involving large-scale security deployments and vendor management.
• Experience supporting executive, residential, luxury residential, or high-net-worth environments.
• Experience with hardened physical security measures such as safe rooms, vaults, ballistic protection, and perimeter security.
• PSP, CPP, CSPM, or similar industry certifications are beneficial but not required.

Travel Requirements

Travel will vary based on the employee's location and active projects. Travel is expected to average approximately one week per month, often divided into shorter trips. Occasional international travel may also be required.
